About Charlie Schaupp
Charlie's Family Heritage
The Schaupp family has a proud history of farming that dates over 125 years. Charlie Schaupp is proud of his family’s tradition of earning a living in Agriculture. Schaupp Farms can trace it roots back to the 1880s when Charlie's great-grandfather settled in the Hungry Hollow Hills of Yolo County.
Schaupp Farms, a 3000 acre operation owned and operated by his family, has throughout the decades proudly produced rice, wheat, barley, almonds, corn, sunflowers, alfalfa and various other crops in Yolo, Sutter and Sacramento Counties.
Charlie Schaupp’s agricultural roots run as deep as his passion for freedom. Charlie is a graduate of Yuba College where he received an Associate Degree in Agricultural Business. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture from California State University, Chico with an emphasis in Soils, Irrigation and Drainage. A Water Science specialist, Schaupp engaged in additional graduate studies in Hydrology and Water Resource Development.
Charlie's Community Leadership
In between his Marine deployments, Schaupp served in his community and earned
the trust of his fellow
conservatives. He served as Chairman of the Yolo County Republican Party from 1998 until 2000.
Charlie has also served as a Boy Scout leader for last 18 years and recently service as the Assistant District Commissioner and Scout Round-table Commissioner in the Far East Council while deployed overseas to ensure the success of the Scouting programs for the military families who were deployed in foreign counties. For his service to Scouting, Charlie is a recipient of the Silver Bear District leadership award of merit for many years of dedication to Scouting in Yolo County and youth programs. He also serves his community as a 19-year member of the Esparto Lions Club and is a former president and director.
Charlie's Military Service
Lieutenant Colonel Schaupp is proven patriot. His service in the Marine Reserves is extensive. In addition to serving in the battle for Fallujah during his latest 5 year mobilization, Charlie served as Anti-Terrorism Officer for the 3rd Marine Division, Security Officer (special staff officer to General Conway assigned to safeguard access to Classified information and operations) for First Marine Expeditionary Force in Fallujah, and Deputy Camp Commander for Camp Courtney in Japan
protecting and safeguarding over 5000 Marines and Families who were deployed overseas. Schaupp was also mobilized
in 1991 for Desert Storm and served as the Commanding Officer of Company B, 4th LSB ‘The Stockton Marines’ in
combat operations supporting the 2nd Marine Division attack and advance into Kuwait City. He again was called up in the
service of freedom in 1996 and was also mobilized for Peace Enforcement Operations for the Bosnia crises.
